Workless again
I’m back in the world of the work-less. Yikes!!
I’ve left CEDRA, which makes me pretty sad (great people, high energy), but has substantially helped with the headaches and the indigestion (not enough great people, loooooong hours). In January, I start my grad program at A&M – an M.S. in Statistics, with a focus on biostats. I’m looking for work to complement the degree, possibly in PK, data managment or even technical writing for clinical research (protocols, CRFs, etc). I’m also cleaning up the house, taking care of long dormant projects and giving the dogs some love. The dogs and Marc have all expressed (in their own ways) how much they missed having me around for the last 11 months and how happy they are to see more of me. And I just joined a book-club, so I won’t atrophy here at home all day.
Of course, without the stress and time crunch of work, I’m also trying to lose those dratted 30 lbs. Again. I’m following the SparkPeople method this time. I’m in Stage 1, which is basically the “warm-up” before you get really reved up and in full “diet” mode. My current goal is pretty modest – lose 9 lbs by 12/19. That will get my BMI down from “Overweight” to “Normal.” I think I can do that without killing myself.
I’ve learned to post from my cell phone (wow, I’m only living 5 years in the past now!), so I should be updating more often. Now I just have to figure out how to cross reference this stuff with twitter….
